ATDRSS 300 MB/S modem programThe 300 Mbps modem was developed for direct application to the next generation high data rate Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) communication system. This modem utilizes continuous phase modulation combined with a restricted range Reed-Solomon Codec to achieve a bandwidth efficiency of 3 bits/sec/hz. The constant envelope amplitude signal allows one to operate the power amplifier in its saturation mode without significant spectral regrowth or bit error rate degradation.
