Development of wavelet analysis tools for turbulencePresented here is the general framework and the initial results of a joint effort to derive novel research tools and easy to use software to analyze and model turbulence and transition. Given here is a brief review of the issues, a summary of some basic properties of wavelets, and preliminary results. Technical aspects of the implementation, the physical conclusions reached at this time, and current developments are discussed.
