Comets - A laboratory for plasma waves and instabilities

The review discusses the various plasma waves and instabilities detected in the vicinity of comets. Particular emphasis is placed on nonlinear wave evolution, as well as the role of nonlinear waves in wave-particle interactions. Areas that need further research are identified to help persons who wish to contribute to the field.
