Noncontact charge measurementA method for noncontact charge measurements is presented, which uses a system based on the reciprocal motion principle of a grounded conductor near a point charge. The system exhibits extremely good linearity with respect to the input electric field and has a resolution of greater than 10 V/m. The high sensitivity of the apparatus makes the system feasible for use at a safe distance in various applications for monitoring static charge.
