System model development for nuclear thermal propulsionThe strategy and progress of an interagency NASA/DOE/DOD team for nuclear thermal propulsion (NTP) system modeling are presented. The main goal of the interagency team is to develop several levels of computer programs for predicting the performance of various NTP systems. These programs are being developed to support the evaluation of conceptual designs and to provide a diagnostic tool for understanding system tests.
