Six-Degree-Of-Freedom Magnetic Vibration IsolatorFeedback control provides soft mount and damping of vibrations. Active magnetic suspension system centers inner structure in position and orientation with respect to principal Cartesian coordinate axes of base or outer structure, stationary with respect to building or vehicle. System helps to isolate suspended mass from vibrations of building or vehicle. Designed to isolate 500-kg experimental apparatus from vibrations of spacecraft, but also used on Earth, provided that its z axis vertical and system assisted by low-stiffness vertical spring that, in steady state, holds up inner structure at nominal vertical position.
