Perfluorocarbons As Fire-Suppression AgentsReport describes research to evaluate perfluoroethane, perfluoropropane, and perfluoro-n-butane as replacements for Halon 1301 as working fluids in fire extinguishers. Because Halon 1301 has potential to deplete Earth's ozone layer, its production scheduled to end by year 2000.
