Hyperthermal-Atomic-Oxygen GeneratorSmall hyperthermal-atomic-oxygen generator (HAOG) compatible with ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) developed. Provides pure flux of ground-state oxygen atoms with mean kinetic energy of approximately 5 eV, accurately simulating conditions in low orbit around Earth, and mounted on any existing UHV processing or analysis system. HAOG clean and compatible with other UHV processing or diagnostic systems and relatively inexpensive and simple to operate. Valuable in studies involving atomic oxygen because added easily to existing systems.
