Reliability analysis of External Tank Attack Ring (ETA)The present study is restricted to External Tank Attachment Rings (ETA), but the concepts discussed are general in nature and can be applied to any structural component. The objective of this research work is to use some of the existing probabilistic methods to calculate the reliability of ETA Rings at various critical sections for the limit state of stress. This is done both in terms of the traditional probability of failure and reliability levels as well as the well known safety indices (beta) which have become a commonly accepted measure of safety.
