The characterization of materials using x ray diffractionThe objectives of this educational exercise are the following: to familiarize the student with x-ray techniques for diffraction pattern generation; to show the student how to utilize x-ray diffraction data for crystal structure determination; and to illustrate systematic and random errors associated with experimental data.
