Tiltrotor ground noise reduction from rotor parametric changes as predicted by ROTONETA simple acoustic footprint trend study has been performed to determine the sensitivity of a tiltrotor aircraft to simple rotor design variations. Using the XV-15 aircraft as a baseline, the effects of blade number, rotor RPM, and chord on tone and broadband noise were predicted with the ROTONET noise code. Effects on EPNL, PNLT, and OASPL for level forward flight were considered.
