Scanning mirror design considerations for a geostationary spaceborne radiometerThis paper will address the design considerations and challenges for a radiometer scanning mirror in a Geostationary (GEO) orbit. With increasingly demanding imaging requirements, mirror designs that are insensitive to the harsh thermal environment will be required. The compatibility of various mirror designs for a precision radiometer will be examined and discussed. The design solutions considered will include material, geometry and thermal design tradeoffs.
