Issues in the analysis and interpretation of cyclotron lines in gamma-ray burstsWith reference to recent gamma-ray burst observations by the detector on the Ginga satellite, the importance of the observation of multiple harmonics for extracting physical parameters from cyclotron lines is demonstrated. The cyclotron line signature of neutron star rotation is described, and possible observational evidence is discussed.
