A capaciflector-based robotic systemThis report presents preliminary results obtained from a research grant entitled 'Capaciflector-based Control and Imaging,' with Grant Number NAG 5-780, for the period between February 1, 1993 and August 1, 1993. This report deals with the development of a robotic system which is used to evaluate the feasibility of servicing and repairing the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) using robots. In particular, the task of opening the HST's toolbox is considered in this report. First the main components of the robotic system will be introduced. Then each component will be described in detail from low-level to high-level. Finally tasks that have been accomplished during the reporting period for the development of the robotic system will be presented. Listings of source codes for the accomplished tasks are given at the end of the report.
