Solar physics within NASA's planningA description of the new NASA headquarters science organization is provided. The track of a research concept is reviewed on its way to implementation by NASA. Six structural elements are available for use in establishing a concerted science program within the Agency. A list is given of the current active study areas of the NASA supported solar physics community.
