Overview of the MSTI 2 processor-in-the-loop simulatorTo thoroughly test the on-board software for the MSTI 2 spacecraft, it was necessary to generate an environment for the software which accurately simulated the on-orbit conditions of the spacecraft. To achieve this, the MSTI 2 Processor-In-the-Loop (PIL) high-fidelity simulator was developed. The entire development was completed in 3 months and required 4 man-months of effort. This paper describes the design and development of this simulator and the methodology employed.
