Analysis techniques for the prediction of springback in formed and bonded composite componentsTwo finite element analysis codes are used to model the effects of cooling on the dimensional stability of formed and bonded composite parts. The two analysis routines, one h-version and one p-version, are compared for modeling time, analysis execution time, and exactness of solution as compared to actual test results. A recommended procedure for predicting temperature effects on composite parts is presented, based on the results of this study.
