Flow splitter increases size of leak measured by helium mass-spectrometer leak detector. Multiplies maximum measurable rate of leakage by factor of 1,000. Leaking gas flows into manifold, where small fraction of flow diverted to leak detector. Bulk of flow removed by mechanical vacuum pump.
