The Role of Vortices in the Formation of the Solar SystemTo show that robust vortices can exist in the solar nebula, a pseudospectral model has been developed to examine the evolution of the vortex in a Keplerian shear. Calculations show that a vortex can exist for 10(exp 4)yr at Jupiter's radius.
