The Third Kind of LogisticianTechnological advances during and since World War 2 have created complications to the effective accomplishment of logistics functions. These complications are due to the added functional areas required for effective support as well as to the increased sophistication required for logisticians. This paper identifies the backgrounds of past and current logisticians and makes recommendations for the educational and technical background of future, effective logisticians.
