MSFC Combustion Devices in 2001The objectives of the project detailed in this viewgraph presentation were to reduce thrust assembly weights to create lighter engines and to increase the cycle life and/or operating temperatures. Information is given on material options (metal matrix composites and polymer matrix composites), ceramic matrix composites subscale liners, lightweight linear chambers, lightweight injector development, liquid/liquid preburner tasks, and vortex chamber tasks.
