Automated Analysis of a Large-Scale Sky Survey: The SKICAT SystemWe describe the application of decision tree based classification techniques to the development of an automated tool for the reduction of a large scientific data set. The primary benefits of the SKICAT approach are increased data reduction throughput, repeatability, and consistency of classification.
