Dry Electrodes Facilitate Remote Health MonitoringJohnson Space Center collaborated with Blacksburg, Virginia-based NanoSonic Inc. through the SBIR program to devise a sensor to replace the traditional electrodes used for an electrocardiogram in space. In 2011, NanoSonic started marketing the dry electrodes as well as an EKGear Sensor Shirt, which is being considered for use in hospital garments, athletic apparel, and dive suits.
