Aerodynamic Characterisation of an Experimental Tilt-Wing AircraftComputational analysis of experimental aircraft prior to test ights can be a valuable tool to estimate ight characteristics and determine areas of elevated caution. It can also provide feedback to software and model developers as to the accuracy of models used when the aircraft is ultimately own. This paper describes the aerodynamic analysis and characterisation of an experimental tilt-wing aircraft with a unique design. The paper covers what analysis is performed as well as results of these aircraft characterisations. Through this analysis a database le is created for use with NASA Design and Analysis of Rotorcraft (NDARC) tool.
