Infrared Thermography and X-Ray Computed Tomography as Complementary Techniques for the Characterization of Damage in Composite Sandwich Structure

Thermography is excellent at rapid detection of delaminations in composite sandwich structure. Interpretation of the results can be difficult – Especially for complex geometries. The use of complementary techniques such as X-ray CT or ultrasound may be necessary to get the complete picture.
