Intercomparison of Global Aerosol Direct Radiative Effect Estimates Based on CALIOPAerosols (mostly) scatter sunlight back to space, partially compensating for CO2 warming. To match the 20th century temperature record, models with low climate sensitivity require a relatively higher total anthropogenic forcing. Observational constraints on aerosol radiative effects will help to improve climate predictions.
