Assessment of Global Precipitation Forecast for use in Landslide Prediction ModelExtreme rainfall events along with landslide prone surface conditions can be extremely damaging, resulting in loss of property, infrastructure, and life. Although, a global Landslide Hazard Assessment for Situational Awareness (LHASA) model provides routinely near real-time dynamic landslide characterization using Integrated Multi-Satellite Precipitation Retrievals for Global Precipitation Mission (IMERG), but it does not provide information on prediction of landslides into future. Forecasting landslide events at a global scale presents an area of open research.
