A Novel Noncontacting Waveguide Backshort for Submillimeter Wave FrequenciesA novel noncontacting waveguide backshort has been developed which provides excellent performance. It consists of a metallic bar with rectangular or circular holes. It has the advantage of being mechanically rugged and readily fabricated using a variety of methods for frequencies up to the high submillimeter wave range.
