A desktop interferometer for optical synthesis imagingA simple desktop optical interferometer is described and demonstrated as a teaching tool for concepts of long-baseline stellar interferometry. The invariance of closure phase is introduced and illustrated. The differences between image synthesis with this interferometer and astronomical interferometers are shown and discussed.
