Multi-User Spaceport Umbilical Low Force DisconnectThis project designed and fabricated a prototype model of an Umbilical Low Force Disconnect (LFD). Traditional quick disconnects (QD) have a high separation force (SF) when pressurized due to the axial flow path through the QD.
