Scientific Ballooning Handbook 50th Anniversary EditionThis Handbook updates the original text from 1975 summarizing the current technology of ballooning as completely as possible. Evolution and theory of ballooning, as well as contributions from experts in the technological areas of energy balance, lift gases, design, instrumentation and stabilization are included. Material for this Handbook was selected and organized with several groups of people in mind: the scientist whose experiment will be flown on a balloon, the engineer who designs the balloon or the equipment to be flown, and flight operations engineers and technicians.
