Flight Path Control Error Analysis for the Helioswarm ObservatoryThe HelioSwarm Observatory requires specific geometries be formed by the nine satellites in the swarm to resolve different scales of solar wind turbulence. Maneuver execution and state estimation drive flight path control errors that could disrupt the swarm geometry. Using a Monte-Carlo analysis, flight path control errors for dispersed trajectories were generated and the impact to science performance and other mission constraints evaluated. The results highlight the unique aspects of swarm-type multi-satellite missions in terms of maneuver planning and error tolerance.
