National Transonic Facility Public Geometry Release and SummaryThis paper highlights the recent release of the NASA National Transonic Facility geometry and gives an overview of the experimental facility and a brief discussion of the released geometry. A detailed laser scan of the facility yielded a point cloud of data points from which high- quality computer aided design surfaces were generated. The resulting loft, currently denoted as NTF_highspeedleg_definition_v1p6 released in October 2024, includes the inlet, contraction, test section, wall slots, upper swept strut, arc sector, and diffuser. The geometry, which is posted on the Drag Prediction Workshop website (https://aiaa-dpw.larc.nasa.gov/ntf.html), has been approved for public use. It is hoped that high-quality simulations of an experimental model in the test section will help quantify the effect of the test environment relative to free-air computational simulations.
