MicroNet Assistant Tool User’s Manual v1.0

The MicroNet Assistant Tool allows users to upload, pre-process, and annotate images for training microscopy segmentation models using MicroNet. The tool also trains the segmentation model and enables use of trained models for segmentation of additional images. Finally, it generates voxelated geometric models of the microstructure for use in micromechanics analysis toolsets. The tool provides an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that enables allows users to resize images, crop images to develop a training data set, rapidly label classes using either the Segment Anything Model (SAM) or built-in manual drawing tools, and train a MicroNet segmentation model. Additionally, it enables users to perform model inference using a previously trained MicroNet model, and contains various post-processing toolsets to develop geometric models for analysis tools and perform measurements on segmented images. The MicroNet Assistant Tool thus significantly reduces the time to train and use a microscopy segmentation model and reduces the barrier-to-entry scripting knowledge and skillset needed to use advanced segmentation modeling capabilities.
