Design of a Smallsat for Uranus This work presents a design for a smallsat designed as a ride-along payload with the Uranus Orbiter and Probe (UOP) mission, with the mission of demonstrating the feasibility of operating a smallsat in environment of Uranus, demonstrating a new energy conversion system, and investigating the magnetosphere, magnetopause, and radiation belts of Uranus. The design was developed by the NASA Glenn Compass systems engineering team in coordination with Phase II of NASA’s Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) program.
