NASA Digital Engineering (DE) Acquisition Framework Handbook: Revision AThis NASA Technical Handbook is published by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as a guidance document to provide engineering information; lessons learned; possible options to address technical issues; interpretative direction and techniques; and other guidance that may help the Government or its contractors in the acquisition, management, exchange, support, or use of digital engineering (DE) data, models, systems, products, processes, or services.

This Handbook provides guidance for establishing and tailoring NASA’s DE acquisition framework, including recommended contractual language for Statements of Work (SOWs) and Data Requirements Descriptions (DRDs), data interoperability considerations, templates, examples, and related best practices. The recommended language is intended as a starting point for program/project and acquisition teams and should be selected, tailored, and coordinated with the appropriate contracting, legal, technical, security, and data-management organizations before use.
