Optimal design of a class of nonlinear networks.The problem of synthesizing nth order nonlinear nonautonomous networks with a prescribed small signal behavior is considered. It is shown that, in the absence of coupling elements, the solution of this problem reduces to synthesizing a set of first order nonlinear characteristics. These characteristics can then be determined using a recently developed generalized steepest descent criterion.
