Interaction of free and forced convection in horizontal tubes in the transition regime.

Abstract: Experimental investigation of some new aspects of the combined free and forced convection interacting in the transition regime of a horizontal tube under uniform heat flux conditions. The results obtained include indications that thermally induced secondary flows attenuate the fluctuations in low inlet turbulence flows, while they restabilize the flow as the inlet turbulence is increased.
