Shock history of mesosiderites.

The (still largely incomplete) shock histories of 18 stony-iron meteorites (classified as mesosiderites) are studied. The crystallographic character of kamacite in each (polished and etched) sample was determined by a back-reflection X-ray diffraction technique. All specimens were studied metallographically, and some by reflected light microscopy. The shock history of each sample is determined in kbar.
