Buckling of beams supported by Pasternak foundation.The determination of buckling loads for infinitely long beams resting on a Pasternak (1954) foundation is considered. It is assumed that the onset of buckling takes place at neutral equilibrium. The effect of extending the foundation beyond the width of the beam is determined by comparing the results obtained for two- and three-dimensional foundations.
