Comparison of particle results from a sounding rocket and a geosynchronous satelliteAuroral data from the ATS 5 geosynchronous satellite and an auroral rocket are compared with the purpose of illustrating some problems which will arise in comparison of data from the GEOS satellite and coordinated rocket experiments. It is recommended that all sky cameras be used in such studies and that since conjugacy between satellite and rocket cannot be guaranteed, the difference should be measured.
