Contributions to the study of ultrasonic machiningProblems in the industrial application of ultrasounds are discussed. Starting from the industrial characteristics of ultrasonic working, especially of hard and fragile materials that are difficult to work by means of conventional methods, the characteristics of the feed system, the circulation system of the abrasive suspension, and the ultra-acoustic unit of machines for ultrasonic working are described. Experiments on the behavior of different types of ultra-acoustic unit design and on the optimal operating conditions connected with the manner of execution, fixation, and excitation conditions are analyzed.
