Cybernetic prosthesisDesign and development of a prosthetic device fitted to an above elbow amputee is reported that derives control information from the human to modulate power to an actuator to drive the substitute limb. In turn, the artificial limb generates sensory information feedback to the human nervous system and brain. This synergetic unity feeds efferent or motor control information from the human to the machine, and the machine responds, delivering afferent or sensory information back to the man.
