Effect of molecular angular momentum on the thermal conductivity of a multicomponent gas mixtureThe effects of molecular angular momentum (spin polarization) on the thermal conductivity of a multicomponent gas mixture are considered. The Wang Chang-Uhlenbeck approach to the kinetic theory of gases with internal states is used. Formal results are obtained for the thermal conductivity of a gas mixture of uniform composition. These results are given in terms of the quantum mechanical degeneracy-averaged cross section.
