Ways of achieving continuous service from computersThis paper outlines the methods used in the real-time computer complex to keep computers operating. Methods include selectover, high-speed restart, and low-speed restart. The hardware and software needed to implement these methods is discussed as well as the system recovery facility, alternate device support, and timeout.
