Effects of hydrogen on iron/nickel/cobalt/alloyCommercially available alloy, Incoloy 903, is candidate for various high-pressure, high-temperature applications. Recent study of properties in hydrogen and helium atmospheres under extreme environments indicates that alloy can be degraded by gaseous hydrogen, particularly at elevated temperatures. Study also reports that water vapor added to hydrogen environments causes reductions in low-cycle fatigue life of material.
