Quo vadis, remote sensingThe use of satellite remote sensing data for resource management is discussed. The evaluation of the need for management data is reviewed, and some legislative programs which require the monitoring of environmental resources are summarized. Several characteristics of data used in the monitoring of dynamic processes are analyzed, and the implications of routine processing of extensive remote sensing data for the development of a new world view are considered.
