Basic mechanisms governing solar-cell efficiencyThe efficiency of a solar cell depends on the material parameters appearing in the set of differential equations that describe the transport, recombination, and generation of electrons and holes. This paper describes the many basic mechanisms occurring in semiconductors that can control these material parameters.
