A summary of systems definition project activitiesDesign information and subsystem requirement definition to the overall program is presented. Application analysis and conceptual design for the wide variety of systems, system tradeoff studies and engineering design for the more promising application types, and the identification of the technology status and requirements for major subsystems and components are described. The residential design and analysis contracts, hybrid photovoltaic/solar thermal electric conversion contract, and development of prototype combined photovoltaic/thermal flat-plate collectors were studied.
