Aerospace highlights and potential medical applicationsAn attempt is made to provide an overview of activities going on in NASA from aeronautics to manned space flight, to exploration of other planets. Some of the spin-offs of NASA research related to the medical profession are described. The discussion focuses on the Space Shuttle, the unmanned spacecraft Seasat program, the exploration of other planets in the solar system, a water-cooled helmet, and some breakthroughs in medical diagnostic instrumentation.
